City Harvest & Ger-Nis: Feeding Fruits & Vegetables to our Own
We are currently working with City Harvest to organize a produce drive along with other produce and food companies in our area. The program’s goal is to ensure that those who are in need in our local communities have access to fresh produce during key times of the year.
We want to organize a different type of donation that ensures top quality produce to those in need instead of the substandard quality which they so often get. Our goal is to deliver one truckload of fresh fruit and vegetables to City Harvest prior to Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hanukah as well as in the spring and summer. We also hope to utilize our local farmers. Ger-Nis, together with our customers, are just embarking on this project and are hoping to report the success of the first Holiday Feeding of Fruits and Vegetables to Our Own! And we will continue to build and grow this program in order to be useful not only in our industry but within our communities and to continue to promote the consumption of fresh quality produce for all people inside our own communities.
